Indoor House Pots

“It was great to have such a big turnout for the event. Everyone had fun, Big C was full of energy and hopefully this has inspired some pupils to try rowing out in the coming months. Thanks to everyone for making it such a good event.” - Mr Jeremy Greenhouse, Head of Rowing

This term saw the first annual Indoor Rowing House Pots event held in Big C. Teams were tasked with completing a 2000m relay as quickly as possible. Open to everyone, rowers and non-rowers alike, over 100 pupils across the school represented their houses to create a brilliantly fun night. The teams rallied together to navigate changeovers, support each other and complete the challenge. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone had a fantastic time.

Congratulations to all who competed, it was fierce! For the boys, Leconfield opened up the evening with a win for the Third and Fourth Form team. For the Fifth Form event Southwood narrowly beat Boyne House to the finish. But the tables turned when Boyne smashed it out the park with their Sixth Form race. To determine the final winners, times were added up and Leconfield snatched the win! Well done to Southwood and Boyne House for placing 2nd and 3rd. As for the girls, College Lawn were determined and dominated the racing to take home all three wins, and therefore the overall title! All the houses worked tremendously and well done to Queens and Westal for coming in close 2nd and 3rd.

Congratulations again to everyone who took part and thank you to all the spectators for cheering on the teams. We look forward to seeing who will be victorious next year.

Seeing so many pupils try out rowing in Big C was great to watch - the enthusiasm, camaraderie and competitiveness was on full display. I hope a few seeds were sown for people to see what a great sport rowing is. College Lawn gave a masterclass in crew cohesion and performance.
