J15 Girls Shine at Avon Spring Head with Dominant Win
The J15 Girls coxed quad (4x+) delivered a standout performance at the Avon Spring Head of the River Race on 1st March, securing a commanding victory in their event.
Not only did they win their category, but their impressive time would have placed them second in the men’s event, highlighting the strength and depth of their performance. Racing against a competitive field, they finished 13th overall in the full division (short course), which included club crews, university crews, and octuples!
Their determination was evident as they powered through the final few hundred metres with exemplary blade work and a relentless push to the finish. Given that this crew had just one outing together in this lineup before the race, their cohesion and execution were particularly impressive.
Head Coach Jed Greenhouse praised their performance, stating:
This J15 squad is training hard, working together, and it shows – a brilliant performance. I'm really proud of them.
This result is a fantastic indication of the squad’s potential, and with continued dedication, there is plenty more to come from this talented group. Congratulations to the crew on a fantastic race!
Last 100m, tired but still nailing their blade work and effort.
