Worcester Head
Three crews represented College at our first race of the season on Saturday, Worcester Head. Due to such a wet start to the new year, the crews were limited to only two water training sessions before tackling the 4.6km race. Despite this, and the fact that most of their opposition have been training since September, our crews performed excellently!
First down the course was the J16 boys' quad made up of Navid B, Josh W, Harry W and Max W. Well done to Max W for learning to foot-steer and leading the boys to a strong 3rd place, finishing only a few seconds behind the leaders.
Next up was the J16 girls’ quad, comprised of one J16 and three J15 girls – Eden B-J, Kitty C, Ella F, and Delilah B. Delilah stepped up to steer the course fantastically, and led by Eden, the crew placed 5th – a brilliant finish when up against full J16 crews!
Finally, the J15 boys’ coxed quad took to the course. Coxed by Sean D, the crew, consisting of Henry H, Will J, Seb H and Ralph K, put in a solid performance, placing them 2nd in one of the most subscribed categories.
Well done all for your first race of the year!
